This series investigates young women, all born around the year 2000, as a contemporary generation of neoclassical muses. They portray a radical, yet neutral demeanor around sexuality and self-acceptance. They dwell in self-ownership, supported by social media communities and body positivity movements of the last five years. They warmly and intimately inhabit their bodies in opposition to, and in spite of, the circumstances experienced by my own very recent generation in our youth. They have compassion for themselves which extends into each other. This body of work applauds the diverse, bold, positive women I see growing up around me. These women will inherit our shifting system of gendered existence and likely finish breaking it, or licking it down to its cone.
